Building upon Taliwu Culture: The Challenges of Pursuing Deep Development
Building on the momentum of its previous project phases, our university's project team remains committed to its original goal of deepening engagement within Dounan Township (formerly known as Taliwu). We look forward to more comprehensive collaborations with local communities, schools, and government agencies. In 2020, the team renovated and preserved an idle bamboo-structure house, "Shiguixi Shop ," in the Shiguixi community, transforming it into a crucial demonstration hub. This spatial renovation initiative has yielded numerous positive results, serving as a vital link between the university and the local area, and as a creative teaching site for our students. Through observation and sharing, experience is passed down, accumulating shared achievements between the university and the local community. This showcases the university's proactive participation in social responsibility and encourages local residents to get involved, creating opportunities for collaboration between the team and communities within the Taliwu area. Furthermore, the creation of local picture books based on local culture and legends serves as elementary school local curriculum, forming the cornerstone for the project's deep-rooted development in the area.

A New Generation of Art - Cultural and Artistic Co-prosperity for New Residents
Focusing on art and culture, this program trains new residents to become professional instructors. Through getting to know, sharing, and exchanging ideas, it builds a sense of cultural identity for new residents. By combining experiential learning and hands-on practice with local culture, it expands the network of multiculturalism. This not only establishes diversity and equality in local culture but also inspires and develops a new artistic culture that is unique to the area, diverse, and inclusive. The course adopts a mentorship model, with senior students leading junior students to pass on teaching experience. Through demonstrations and practical applications of different cultural and artistic themes, students learn how to share and showcase their culture. This includes the introduction and preparation of Vietnamese and Indonesian cuisine, along with performances of music, shadow puppetry, and dance, which genuinely present the lifestyles of different cultures. Finally, there will be an exchange on dietary acculturation with the Zhao'an Hakka people of Yunlin, where similarities and differences in culture will be explored, promoting the preservation of multiculturalism and deepening cultural heritage.
